Such a shame...

The lead actor from the movie The Lives of Others passed away. He had been suffering from stomach cancer. He really did a fantastic job in the movie. If you have not seen it, go rent or buy or download it!

Ok... last post before bed...

Cause I have an 8 am conf call, and it is already nearly 1am here... and I am grumpy as hell if I don't get a good night sleep... but I could not go without posting this (thanks to the reminder from Angel).

Remember the cartoon Transformers that we all would watch as kids (if you were a kid back in the 80's)? Well, I am sure you are aware that they have made a movie of the series... and I saw my first glimpse at it tonight. Since seeing it on the TV I have found 2 or 3 trailers, none quite the one I saw originally. The one at the end of this link is the best one I have seen so far of those online!

WOOOOO HOOOO... I am looking forward to seeing this movie when it comes out!

SPARTANS.... TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL!!!

This movie does look pretty awesome, and I am certainly looking forward to seeing it, although I am not looking forward to seeing it surrounded by the usual idiots that go to the movies over here!

'We called the DOG Indy'

Yup... the fourth (and I imagine final) installment of the Indiana Jones series now has a release date of May 22nd 2008... Memorial Day here in the US of A.

STAY AWAY!!!

The book was certainly not the best (as I mentioned in my review), but the movie was worse... a lot worse. They cut out a lot of the plot lines, cut down the travelling scenes, so it really looked like the characters just jumped about randomly across the globe. Fighting scenes were so so. Characters themselves were hardly developed at all. Characters that made it in the books did not in the movie and vice-versa. The ONLY redeeming thing about the movie... the Dragon. She was very cute as a hatchling, and the effects were well done on the dragon throughout.

If you miss any movie this year, please let it be this one!!!

FLAMMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do tend to get excited by upcoming movies... especially if I like the topic, or the characters... or the previous movies in the series. True, I can tend to get disappointed at times, but the build up is fun, right???

Gobble, Gobble Weekend

So it was Thanksgiving weekend this past weekend in the US. Result was a 4 day weekend!!!

Wednesday night was spent unpacking, clearing, organising and shopping for the housewarming party.

Thursday morning and early afternoon was much the same. We then went to my parents for Thanksgiving dinner. After my dad cooked the turkey (deep fried... very nice result), I was put in charge of the carving (yes, I was actually given a BIG knife and given free range to attack a dead bird!) of the turkey. After dinner, it was back for more housework. Result was in bed by around 2am on both Wednesday and Thursday.

Friday more cleaning, more last minute shopping, and then the party. The festivities kicked-off around 4pm and ended sometime around 10:30pm.
To those who made it: Thank you for helping us celebrate and for helping us drink and eat loads of food (special thanks to Julianti for catering, and to both mums for helping serve and clean up afterwards). It was great to see, and, for me, to meet lots of people!
To those who did not make it: SUCKERS! You missed a great party. You were all (well most of you) missed, and we hope to entertain y'all in the house in the near future.

Saturday was golf, cleaning and other stuff I seem to remember.

Sunday was shopping, relaxing, eating, and the new Bond movie in the evening (before I ran home to pack for my trip to MEKICO)...

Note: BOND MOVIE IS GREAT... GO SEE IT!

WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6116286.stm

I am pretty pumped about the new Bond movie. After reading all the Ian Fleming books, I have a new found respect for where they are going with the new Bond movie. I am also happy to see that the critics are changing their mind about Daniel Craig.
